Pricing, privacy & support

ApprovalStats is a Mercury Octopus Incorporated operation. It offers fictional cartoon satire involving public figures. No endorsement or affiliation is implied.

Your play pack

A C$5 pack provides C$5 in non-transferable play value: 10 kicks, 20 shoes, 100 cabbages, 50 tomatoes, 33 eggs with C$0.05 left, or a mix. Kick C$0.50; shoe C$0.25; egg C$0.15; tomato C$0.10; cabbage C$0.05. Checkout shows the final total before you pay. Play value has no cash-out or transfer feature. There are no prizes.

Changing characters or clearing the scene keeps your purchased balance. An accepted paid action is recorded by the server. Retrying the same interrupted request does not add another charge or reaction.

Recovery

Save the private wallet recovery file before purchasing. It restores unused play value when you change browsers or lose your wallet cookie. Anyone with your code can use your wallet, so keep it private. Restoring a wallet or choosing to replace a lost recovery file invalidates the old code. Downloading the same file again during the current session does not replace its code. We never ask you to post a recovery code publicly or send it by ordinary email.

Help and refunds

Contact info@mercuryoctopus.com for payment or technical problems. Include the payment receipt or payment reference, the date and a description of the problem. Do not include your card number or recovery code.

You may request a refund of unused purchased play value within 30 days of purchase. Approved refunds return to the original payment method, with any applicable tax adjustment. For a technical failure affecting used play value, contact us so we can investigate and offer a correction, replay or appropriate refund. This policy does not limit mandatory consumer rights.

Optional email updates

You can choose weekly reaction statistics, alerts when new public figures become playable, or both. No purchase is required. We send a confirmation link before activating your selected updates. Gift purchases and free cartoon requests do not subscribe you. Each update email includes a link to change your choices or unsubscribe without signing in.

We store your email address encrypted, your selected topics and confirmation/consent history, plus email sending status needed to operate the service. Your address is not included in public reaction statistics. A small suppression/consent record may remain after unsubscribing to honour your choice and document consent.

Your information

Photo uploads and nicknames are handled in your browser and are included in clips you choose to create. The game does not upload those photos or nicknames to its play-wallet server. Sharing a downloaded clip with another service is your choice.

The play-wallet service stores an anonymous wallet, hashed wallet/recovery credentials, payment references, balances and paid action records. A secure cookie lets your browser access its wallet. The payment provider handles your billing and card information. For future country-level analysis, new purchased reactions may retain an approximate country code inferred from the connection at the time of the action, along with the country-data source and release. The game looks this up locally; it does not send the connection address to a geolocation service or add a raw IP, city or precise location to action records. Network routing or VPNs can affect the result; unavailable countries remain unknown. Country information is not displayed publicly. Rate limiting uses keyed hashes of network addresses to protect the service.

Paid rankings describe activity on ApprovalStats: cash-backed play value consumed, action totals and participating wallets. A wallet is not verified proof of a unique person. The selected Man or Woman cartoon is recorded with new paid actions and shown in aggregate; it does not identify the person playing or their gender. Peak Chosen Dates use Pacific time. Man is the default cartoon for new actions. Earlier activity without a saved choice is retained, with an additional breakdown shown only if needed. Demo, staff and test transactions are excluded from public paid totals. Refunds and disputes are reconciled with the activity data.

Free future-cartoon requests store one current selection per anonymous wallet, separately from paid actions. Submitting again updates that selection. No email address is required; an anonymous wallet is not proof of a unique person. Sandbox request totals remain separate from launch requests.

For access, correction or deletion requests, contact the support address above. Records that must be retained for payment, accounting, security or legal purposes may be retained as required. Deleting browser data can remove local photos, nicknames and access to a wallet; keep your recovery file.

Launch policy prepared 4 November 2026. Real purchases remain disabled until hosting, payment settings and the complete purchase/refund flow have been verified.
